It’s a beautiful day today and I took full advantage by taking a little run to the beach and a stroll through the farmers market. I walked away with a couple pounds of vegetables and a chocolate croissant – I think you can guess which item I chose to eat for breakfast 🙂

Upcoming Shows!

Saturday, May 19th from 12pm-8pm – Dylanfest, El Segundo $25

Dylanfest is THIS SATURDAY!! I heart Bob Dylan and I’m so excited to be included to play in this long running festival! There is food, fun, prizes and over 60 musicians playing Dylan’s best songs. I’ll be playing “A Simple Twist of Fate” around 12:30pm. I’m selling tickets for $25 so message me to buy them!

Recap Time!

Live at the Lounge was an incredible night! Thank you for coming to the show!

Jake, Suzy, Tim, Whitney, Kapali, John, Matt, Alyssa

Matt & Alyssa started off the evening with high energy performances of their original tunes as well as a cool acoustic version of Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face”. Their playful banter was a great kick-start to the night. I got the next shot at the stage and just melted into the warmth of the acoustics in the room.

Tim Hall, our co-sound engineer of the night, jumped up to share a couple of his songs before joining Whitney Steele for a lovely duet of “Stars Go Blue”. Whitney’s set was full of beautiful love songs sung with impeccable vocals wrapped in a funky black and pink dress.

Kapali Long brought his loop pedal, which threw this girl for a loop when it suddenly sounded as if he had five guitars onstage. I don’t get to see him use the loop pedal very often and it’s a very cool thing you should go see if you get the chance. He also has a new album out on iTunes!

Jake & John finished off the night. Adorned in matching, colorful, polyester shirts their tunes sounded as if they had written a duo album on the beaches of Hermosa in the 60’s with upbeat rhythms and perfectly melded harmonies.

A huge THANK YOU to Fred Milani for putting the show together. It’s rare to find people that want to altruistically help others, and he is one of them. Thanks also to Tiki McPherson for manning the merch table and providing moral support. And thank you to Mark at the Easy Reader for putting together a huge, front page article for us! You can read the whole thing HERE. That article just about made my year.

After Dylanfest I’m taking a short break from shows for a few weeks to focus on recording, woo hoo!

Rock on my friends!
